Re: squeaky bremmbo brakes

how did you get the new pads in? did you have to file the edges?

its quite common for the brembo's to squeal but 'apparently' this is because people dont replace the stainless steel shims and file the pads to make them fit, mind you they are damn near impossible to get out oh yeah and if you do you cant get your hands on new ones

i think the common solution is to apply a good amount of grease but sounds as though you already have?

Re: squeaky bremmbo brakes

Could be because of a need to clean the crud outta the calipers, more likely just one of those things. Three things you can do:

1. Clean the calipers, removing the crud, especially the build-up of brake dust etc from the area the pads move

2. Fit anti-squeal shims, about £20 from a specialist uk Coupe forum starting with "F"

3. Fit standard, Fiat issue brake pads, that have foam backing on the which eliminates the squeal

Re: squeaky bremmbo brakes

you should have took shims out and cleaned them to start with and also check for damage, and yes the pads should slide easily.

the large patch from a motor cycle puncher repair kit make good shims

Re: brembo squeaky brakes are driving me mad

is a common problem.
In your case.
It sounds as though the pads are gently rubbing the discs as a result of the thicker pads. This will give a squeel at low speeds

I would strip front brakes down copper slip the components and most importantly lubricate the brake pistons.

Re: brembo squeaky brakes are driving me mad

What about taking the lip off of the discs using a file, and chamfering the pads (leading edges) this normally works for me. And working the piston's in and out a few times wont hurt either. Failing that you need to be having a real good look at the caliper and how well the pads slide in there.

Re: brembo squeaky brakes are driving me mad

The reason they are squealing is because the pad guides are raised up, because there is "crud" buildup below them.

Ideally you want to strip the calipers down and replace the guides after properly cleaning underneath them so that they sit correctly.

This will solve the problems.
