| Re: turbo and manifold Wealthy man! NEW manifold £300ish, NEW turbo (if you can source) £700/900ish, NEW exhaust £250ish - all estimates. Ive fitted a new turbo (uprated gt28 from turbo dynamics) at approx £900 - new stainless exhaust (Blueflame) with race cat and downpipe at approx £460 (if I recall) - replaced manifold with one of carlts at £100. All fitted myself so no labour costs involved. Include new manifold gasket - new lambda sensor aswell and maybe oil pipe to turbo, oil filter and change . If you do uprate the turbo I would suggest you use an uprated gt28 for ease of fitment - other bigger turbos require 5 stud adaptors etc... also check the condition of your radiator - may need replacing at a little over £100 plus new coolant etc...! There were turbos on ebay recently, dont know if they are still there but you take your chances in my opinion - get it new and warrantied. Recons are available but alot of the turbo houses dont want to touch the coupe one, but some will. If you took it to a specialist and asked for all new items and fitting I would guess at approx £2k!! ![]()

| smell my cheese | Re: turbo and manifold Hey Rich, Don't buy a new manifold, they cost and are just as likely to crack as your current one, which I'm guessing is cracked and making that tell-tale "ticking" sound from cold? If you are replacing for performance purposes, don't bother, the standard jobby is well up to task, in fact the big power boys are pretty much all using the standard manifold as it can move a heck of a lot of gas. Exhausts, I'd buy a nice stainless jobby online, get it delivered, and pay a local exhaust and tyre place £15-£20 to fit. Scorpion make a nice sounding stainless jobby, in 3" (subtle) or 4" (a bit more lairy) pipe outlets. Best place for one of these is proven products, about £260 all in IIRC. you'll have to find their website and phone them though, but they are excellent on prices. Peco/Cybox are also popular, don't be put off by the chavvy connotations, peco do a decent cat-back for the coupe, the sound is if a little loud if also running a de-cat (like me ) You could also try the coop forum for a second hand item, I sold my peco for £150 delivered, I gave it a clean and it came up as new, and the new owner was more than pleased.I actually have a manifold at mine, it's been tig (or mig, I forget) welded at the crack and it's what everyone on the coop forum goes for as they last better than new, mine was welded by Carlt who was the one-time daddy of coupe parts, I never got round to fitting it tho. If interested, I may be persuaded to sell ![]() Matt
