Coupe 20VT

Hi people,

Just purchased a 20v turbo with a problem! Car starts and runs fine but seems to have no power. Also the back brakes squeak like hell, any ideas?

could it be possible the rear breaks are stuck on, if thats possible, would explain the lack of power n squealing

What ya mean no power?

Also how do u know its the back brakes squeeking? It can be the front or the rear. When braking and its squeeking, pull the handbrake on to see if it goes away.

The rear brakes arent strong enough to noticeably slow the coupe.

It is definiteley the back brakes as the hand brake stops them, the only squeak when you are coasting along in traffic.

As for the power loss - ive been told it might be the air mass meter?

Does it use a lot of fuel? What are the coolant temps like once its been running for a while, i.e out for a long drive?

Re: Coupe 20VT

The power loss is probably the MAF, or the EBV (Electronic bleed valve) The insides seize up and leave you with base boost which is around 180bhp.

There is a good guide on the FCCUK forum for cleaning it.
