Bored at work so randomly getting insurance quotes for different cars.

I have just got a quote for a coupe 20vt for £500 fully comp etc...

Now when i had my coupe fully comp cover was 2k and its been less than two years since I had my coupe. Last year was £700....

Maybe another coupe could be a contender again for my next car

20vts, especially a Plus, are bizarrely expensive or me to insure..more than much more valuable cars such as Merc SLK 320, a Z3M roadster, a Boxster I guess it's because fccukers keep writing them off

No, its because the plus versions are actually Group 20 insurance.. which is the highest there is...

So is the Z3M But value of car also plays a role surely on an FC policy - coupe plus 6k, Z3M 12k ...

20VT's are really cheap to insure compared to like-for-like performance cars. as a guide for me to insure the following, fully comp: (all standard)

20VT - £600
M3 - £2,000
Impreza - £1,500
Integrale - £1,100

However my mods bump up the premium £300

Perhaps it's because the average Coupe accident is front end shunt, need new bonnet, can't get a new bonnet, or if you can the cost involved means it's cheaper to write it off.
