Well the DVI cable has cured the slightly blurred image, it now looks like a proper LCD monitor

I had a DVI-VGA converter as my TV has VGA and DVI but only came with a VGA cable - I think, I probably had a DVI cable without thinking, now thinking about it. The TV was fine, looked great, BUT there was a slight blurring on text, though obviously you couldn't see at the distances used by a media centre.

But the DVI has made it just perfect. Really pleased. It turned out to be a Dell DVI cable so not the cheapest either.

Played a HD trailer from Apple and it shows the GPU (X300 PCI-E) isn't up to it, but that's something for the long term

I am really pleased with it now, but it took some effort to get it to a point where I could say that and mean it.

DVI is indeed quite a nice connector.

I've a DVI to 5x BNC component cable. Gives great picture to my 21" Trinitron.
