I have Vista Business edition installed on a laptop - it runs very well, and supported all the hardware just fine.
...but its flashy theme gets boring pretty fast.
I still prefer it overall compared to XP, but im a Linux user - Ubuntu has come quite a long way recently. Its nice not having to worry about viruses - security comes by default, including a firewall trusted by Enterprise businesses for their entire networks. No price, no add on - its just there. Viruses and spyware just wont work on a Linux machine - Windows binaries are alien to a Linux system, including viruses built for Windows.
Depends on what you need the pc for - if you play games on it, stick with Windows, as its a pain trying to get alot of games working.
