Unhappy opera has reset itself

went to open opera and it came up with a warning and wouldnt open

re-started computer, opera opened but reset itself, lost all my favourites, cookies, previous pages, skins, etc...

is there anyway of getting it back, most of the stuff was important

most the smilies dont show up on the forum no more, im lost without them

Re: opera has reset itself

There is an update thingy but it usually asks you if you want to do it! While you're at it, might as well upgrade to the latest version, 8.something - the rubbish bin thing is so handy for things like mail, transfers and blocked pop-ups. A lot of things like mail, searches and bookmarks can be imported from your old version. Skins changed somewhere along the line from being images to being an 'all in one' as it were so you'll need to go hunt down some new ones from the site but there are new effects to go with it as well

Re: opera has reset itself

From the top down:
addresses: 200 and 1000
caches: auto and 100mb

Make these too big and it takes too long to read from memory and slows the PC down, too small and it's loading everything up (or you having to type it in) every time.
