hey

i've needed a tool for websurfing for a while, something cheap to take abroad too, these mini 10" laptops fit the bill!

there was one in argos for £150 but it's went up £30 .

windows 7 basic, 1 gig ram 160gb HD, wifi etc even a 7 hour battery life!

but, if i'm going to get one i'll probably keep it for a few year so i might aswell get something worth while!

any reccomendations? i don't know much about them, processors etc..

any current deals on at the moment you've seen?

any help/advice would be great!! cheers

Don't know much about them either, but I do know argos have an ebay clearance store and they appear on there pretty cheap and quite often

i got mrs dave an b grade elenox webbook about 4 years ago and just sold it an only lost about 50 quid on it

brother recently got one always worth checking how much ram you can put in it.

good thinking 1 gig should be enough for a web surfer but it's good to have the option to upgrade.

there's a samsung for £200 ish in argos, or an MSI one for £180 with 7 hour battery life, annoying though as it was up for 150 last week

Wow, nice spec for the money, was expecting a single celeron, might aswell go for that cheers Dave!!

yeah, but i only really wanted a netbook because they're cheap lol.

this has a huge HD compared to netbooks and HDMI and a DVD RW, well worth £75 more

Watch the weight too, if you have to be carrying it around a lot

yeah, good thought, furthest it'll get carried is into the car wish laptops had enough room for 2 HD's i've got a 500GB laptop HD doing nothing

I'm the queen of Netbooks.

IMO, you pay for quality, I've got a NC10 I've had for 2 years, dropped it 8 times so far, still works. Rammed with a SD card slot, Bluetooth, I don't need a cable for connecting my phone or camera on the go!

Imo, my friend got PB Dots2 with Win 7 Starter on it, it didn't even work. Crashed constantly while loading!

Get an XP one or wipe it, and pop it on, or go Linux imo!

or buy a NC10 off eBay!

Dodger's right on the money there. Windows 7 starter on all but the high end most expensive netbooks is a waste of time.

I tend to find it needs a much higher res screen to be more functional.

got the laptop Dave suggested earlier, couldn't be happier, it's amazing for the money, chuffed to bits, they've relisted it for nearly £100 more

10" screen LED backlit (for mega battery life) and same performance as every other Atom netbook. And it looks good especially in blue.

New screens are cheap and easy to fit for when you break it. How would I know that
