| FFFTW! | Unloading a DLL File This is driving me crazy. Are there any apps that can unload and free a file? I have some adware on my pc that no programs seem able to shift. I've located the files that are causing the problem but i cant delete them because their running. I've tried using Adawares process watch to try terminate them with no luck, and they still run in safe mode. Any ideas?

| I Helped :D | Re: Unloading a DLL File You can try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 at startup, then try deleting the file. This almost always lets you delete a file that is normally locked. The easiest way i find to remove a virus is by removing the infected hard drive plugging it into another pc and then run virus scans on it. This is usually very successful because files are not locked. Downside there is a risk of infecting the other PC. If your pc is still insisting you have a password press "ctrl alt del" at the login screen and try "administrator" then "guest" in the username with no password. If you get in as administrator you can remove your password. oh yeah AVG8 Free is a lot better than 7

| FFFTW! | Re: Unloading a DLL File couldnt delete in safe mode as they still ran, and i had no recent restore points. I managed to log in by using recovery console to replace all the registry files with the post-installation reg files. Then i backed up all my stuff and replaced the reg back to the old version before trying an installation repair - I'm so glad i did as micro$hite well and truely fcked over the PC while trying to repair. Wouldnt even load the OS properly and just kept bluescreening. Time for a clean install ![]()
