| More ICE Please | Re: Help cant get carputer to power up A few pics i this may be more explanatory. As you can see there is next to no ampage draw so obviously there id nothing actually switched on properly. The touch screen just flashes no signal and then does nothing and there is no green light on the Cd drive which i would expect if the computer was actually powering up. Do you think that the red and black wires could only be for the cooling fan and the other 6 above it need to be connected to the IN car M2-ATX start up shut down controller that i have. Which is pictured next to the CD drive in the first Pic. | ||

sounds like the case well it has to be because it sounds pretty loud and i couldnt imagine that anything else other than the case fan would make that much noise. and there is no keyboard or mouse plugged into it even though that would be a good thing to add as im sure i wont be able to set up the OS using a touch screen. As i have said im sure that it has something to do with those 6 coloured wires and and the M2-ATX not being connected i just need to know what to do with them as the M2-ATX Has no harness unless i missed it in all of the thousands of other wires i have. Infact i have a sneaky suspition that the harness has been adapted to an ISO connection that i was looking at and wondering what it was. Nope just found the picture and it is missing what looks like a 20 pin plug that go's at the front. This is so annoying i know that the solution would be soo simple but made difficult by my lack of knowledge. I seem to have everything else sorted fine and dandy.

Can you take the thing apart?. Might be worth checking internal connections. I can't really tell from the pics how it all works tbh ![]()

| More ICE Please | Re: Help cant get carputer to power up It is this thing surely this is a standard plug that somebody in the world must have seen. Im only a lunch hour away from going to MP3 car to try and get this sorted but i am trying to keep everything on this forum. My bro in law may be able to help as he is a certified, practising Admin at a school but i showed him the whole idea before i started it all and he and his collegues did'nt have a clue and told me to forget it. Fcuk'in pu$$ies i say. Wont let a minor set back like this get me down. | ||

| Re: Help cant get carputer to power up In my setup i have the m2-atx power unit installed inside my pc case, with a connection from that to the motherboard and the then i have a red and a black cable which will turn the pc on when connected to a battery and a white cable for using the ignition on. At the moment my pc will power on with just the red and black hooked up to a battery. I'd like to see the inside of the case, see if you have the cables connected all ok. It sounds like you have power to the case, but not to the main board, which sounds too weird for you to have got it wrong.

| Chasing Cars | Re: Help cant get carputer to power up The annoying thing is I could fix it in 30mins if I was there unfortuanly your in Kent and im in the North East. Its just I haven't got much to work on from a few pics. Can you get a couple from power source to the PC itself. | ||

| More ICE Please | Re: Help cant get carputer to power up Yeah ill try over the weekend the power scource is those two grey power regulator things. Its a bit difficult because i can only get it powered at Hornby not at home where all the stuff is and i am only on the internet at work where i am now. I will def get the case off over the weekend and take some pics. It is being powered by the red and black tangly wires ATM and that is just by a standard Jack. | ||

| Re: Help cant get carputer to power up In the top right picture, it looks to me as if the case has its own power supply for cooling or something. You need to get the case off, and look the other side of the white connection block and there should be three spade connections, red, white and black normally. Connect Red to + on the M2-ATX and Black to the - and the the white cable should go in-between the red and and black cables. Then you need a mainboard cable to go between the M2-ATX and the motherboard. After that is installed, connect your ISO looking block to the white connection block at the back, then run the red and black back to the battery, and the white to positive as well. Should boot up after that. Post again and tell us how it goes!
