i have a users laptop and it has media centre theme on it. i like it can i wack it on standard xp if so from where?

The theme Is called Windows 'Royale'. Stardock is a program that installed themes for you it is s*** and costs money unless you patch it illegally. All you need the patched uxtheme.dll and then get hold of the *.mstyles file and put it in C:\Windows\resources\themes.

at home i use the vista transformation pack. the latest version is amazingly good you'd never know it isnt vista.

I find vista pretty good performance wise. It loooooves more RAM. Rather than XP which leaves your RAM idle Vista uses it to preload frequently used programs.
