Best OS For Road Runner Carputer

Basically im looking for the best OS for my carputer i would still like to be able to use the PC as a PC if poss but just want something quick. I think that linux do a cut down version. Any help is appreciated. Links would be brilliant too

its got to be one of the linux distributions, but there are hundreds so which one do you use?

ubuntu would probably be the best choice

If you don't know linux, which im guessing your don't I seriously wouldn't bother trying to use it on a carputer.

Try one of the 'slim' 'streamlined' versions of XP freely availible. Theres one called TiniXP I believe which is just basic essentials which install to about 400-500mb and use about 50mb ram once booted up and boots up in about 15-20secs on a basic PC.

Had to go on a bit of a mission to find it but i think that i have the Torrent to download, (Yeah i sound like i know what im doing LOL) Am i likely to need a code or will this just run whilst i decide which program that i want

What do you mean by code? A serial number?. If so then its included and 'streamlined' in the install

Sweet i didnt download it yet in the end as im at work and need to be careful that our ISP dosnt catch us small chance i know but im sure that they would rather be safe than sorry.
I didnt realise that Macs have Opera on them.

Consider looking at one of the customisable shells for XP such as litestep; you are much more likely to find something suitable for use in a car. If you want to be able to use standard apps then you should defo go for XP.
