Just had our Microwave internet fitted at work due to never being on the schedule for BT's Fiber rollout:

Compared to our Sharedband solution (dual lines) of 8mb down and .4mb up its a vast improvement!

Apparently they are unlocking the link to a gig up and down! But we are to expect 300mb as thats all the router can cope with. Cant wait!

you'll notice lag on your service with a slow upload speed... well i do with all the iphones trying to backup 24/7!

Welcome to the sticks.

Are these now known as the good old days?

Ya'll are putting me to shame.

:p

Also even your most recent isn't that bad...you aren't in the sticks unless there is a 0 and then a decimal point at the start of your connection speed. Think the worst I had was .8 which shot up to 1.5mbps when they upgraded all the cabinets for the introduction of fibre.

Strangely enough I was on the phone to BT the moment the fibre roll out happened who wants 10x faster when you can have 30x times faster, although I could pay more for 70mb + but it's fast enough now for most things. I was promised 37 but this is over wireless so probably a little faster for the Xbox which is hardwired.

Haha I couldn't believe it could get worse!

The consistent lowest we had was 0.8/0.9. Those days. :(:(:(

This is my wifi speed, despite sitting in the opposite end of the house of the access point. The connection is 50/50 and delivers every time.
I'm running Ubiquiti router and access point, with an ASUS PCE-AC68 card in my desktop computer. My laptop have a ping of around 18-20ms, but gets roughly the same speed.
Quality gear does pay off! I have had zero downtime on this setup, since installed April 1st - I'll never go back to one of those "wifi/lan"-all in one solutions again.

Wow, its been over a year since we got our Microwave link with AQL:

Still as good as ever. Quite funny we had Virgin who have now run fibre to our building touting for our business, told them what we got and how much we pay (free for first 12 months then £30pcm) and they didnt really know what to say so ended the conversation there (y)

Now just such a shame I cant get this for at home!

My DSL connection in the Netherlands. I pay for 50Mb/s down and 5Mb/s up. It's pretty good. The DSL Exhange is just around the corner :). About 600 meters away from me.

A costumer connected to a "new" streetcabinet (FTTC). This guy can get speeds up to 100Mb/s down and 30Mb/s up!:

Our ISP (KPN, the "dutch" BT) also delivers Bonded DSL. With Pairbonding, 2 phonelines are combined and speeds can go up to 200Mb/s down and 60Mb up.

It's interesting to see the differences in other countries. :)
