photoshop

well ive decided to try and tame this beast.
ive dabbled with PS before but always found it frustrating that i couldnt do what i wanted.
to be honest more down to me trying to skim tutorials in typical man stylee

so any tips appreciated.
i see there are no shortage of PS sites on the net

Depends what you're doing, I just play about with it and if there's something I can't do I find a tutorial. Mind you it's ****e using a laptop as I need a proper mouse I find.

thinking i may try and get a cheap graphics tablet?? seems more suited

I've got an old one, takes some getting used to so I gave up with it, but might be worth a try.

best PS tips I can give are learn the keyboard shortcuts ala CTRL+ etc etc

At least you can work on something that interests you, and get to learn the basic skills at the same time

i've never been able to use photoshop, got myself a tutor now - she just says fart about with it, pressing buttons and seeing what does what. Seems to work.

well i fiddled around and am starting ot get the hang of it.nothing specific to show as ive just been deleting as i went.
lot to learn though!

i learned by just messing with it., particularly selicting areas with lasso, magnetic etc, also clone stamping and working with layers.,.
i often see photography magazines giving photoshop tutorial cds with the mags if thats any good to ya., .,.,

I learnt how to use it by playing with a OOOOOOOLD copy that was sitting on my first PC (90MHz )

it really is just to play about with it, set yourself a task and try everything you can to do it. Remember you can always undo
