Description
So I was going to wait until Spring and ask for 1,595 for my Spider but I thought she would be a nice Valentines gift.

If the special one in your life is fed up of you working on your Fiat instead of spending time with her/him why not get something for you to work on together?

No back seat so no kids to take out and no back seat so it's a little trickier to create kids in the first place (with the roof down at least).

She is a 1997 916 Alfa Spider Twinspark, 1970cc, 155hp, five speed manual, black leather interior and the usual Luso spec' wheels and stuff.

I bought the car as a late Summer bargain of 800 needing a couple of jobs (as they do). New solenoid catches for the roof replaced and the roof works perfectly. A few electrical gremlins due to the usual pcb on the back of the fuse box being a bit melty. I have a replacement from Italy but not had chance to fit it yet. The car does not at the moment have front fog or side lights and the tail lights are wired together bypassing the circuit. When I bought the car she had gash HID headlights bulbs and LED DRL's. This is what I believe caused the pcb to go and they are all long gone to landfill.

Most important of all if you know your GTV and Spider platforms the clutch master and slave cylinders have been replaced with new ones. (If you don't know have a google and see how much stress is involved with that task). If you can find an Alfa specialist willing to do it they will happily charge you 800 for the job and now know why.

I've also freshened the satin black around the windscreen frame as it was a little sun faded.

She was resprayed almost Fiat yellow by a previous owner. Not to the highest of standards but looks bloody good from a distance and the log book is up date with the colour change declared. I only saw the car on my mobile and thought the colour was Zoe Yellow. Not the greatest but a good platform to start your own project.

Coming up to twenty years old and based on a car that is supposed to have a roof expect a few squeaks, rattles and scuttle shake.

I'm using my Bravo over Winter to keep my Spider away from the salt grit and squit on the roads.

I really love this car and don't care if she sells or not. The price is more than fair in my opinion considering what I paid and replaced parts works out more.

I am only thinking of selling now so I can get stuck into my Coupe project.

All the best for 2017 Rob (aka Liquid Knight)
