Major ICE plans. Need Opinions

been thinkin about some plans to further my ice install without compromising on taking out the rear seats.
at the moment i have 2 10" sony p5 subs with a 10 disk changer and a 350w amp in the boot which is compleatly full.
the subs are running left and right channels through the amp at 175w each and they have a peak of 1100w and rms of 300w so not really moving em much.
next i have a pair of the new design sony xplod 6x9 on the rear shelf unamped which have a peak of about 220w dont know about rms for them. in the rear quarters i have a pair of cheap 6x9 which claim to be 250w peak but arent that bad quality also unamped. both pairs are running off the rear of the head unit.
in the front i have a small pair of sony xplod speakers that are 110w peak running form the front of the headunit.

right here are the plans. need opinions oh and accomplishing this make take some time but will be worth it.
here go's

getting a 1000w amp to power the subs.
amping up both pairs of 6x9s with one amp
leaving the fronts as they are.

right time for extravegance
in the door cards putting small 5" sonys in front of the door handle and 6" or 6.5" after the handle.
where the lower pocket thing is having the larger bit built roung as a sort of half egg shape so its sealed. then in this part putting a sony xplod 6x9 xplod 6" speaker and a small tweeter all in a line.
then where the smaller half of the pocket is cut that off and bolt an amp in place of it on either door.

right thats the plan what you guy an gals think.
worth it or a big waste of time, is it too much, i just keep thinkin that when you open the door it would look the dogs, thats if the door opens properly after all the extra weight.

or should i do it for you guys just for a laugh.

let me know please.

hi

i have got 2 pairs of 6x9s in the rear, and some components up front. I have got them all amped tho. I have tried it without amping the front and its awful to be honest. So I would say amp them all, or just the fronts. The best car installs have subs, and just good quality amped front components.

hope this helps

if u after a decent amp at a good price to run the subs then i cant fault the jbl gto 6000 amp, it can run 2 subs and 4 sets of speakers.

it takes up room though, u seen my boot

Wouldn't mind seeing what your boot looks like! Most of the space in mine is taken up by a 10" Sony P5 in the center and a Sony 255EX amp sitting next to it. The amp is rated at 140W RMS/300W MAX and the sub at 300" RMS/1100W MAX, so the subs a little underpowered but the quality of the sound is good enough at the moment. And a bargain at £120 for the lot, too. I had a piece of wood cut to the size of the boot to screw everything to, and placed that underneath the carpet. A bit of a pig to fit it all together but it looks good now and having a secure bass helps the sound out too.

But enough of my car, onto yours. You already seem to have a reasonable install already. The question is are you looking for quality or quantity? If you want quantity, heres what I would do:
1) Keep the two subs in the back and screw them down tight (!)
2) Find a good quality mono amplifier (Sony P5, Vibe Monobox etc.) and power the two subs off
3) Keep the 6x9s in a MDF rear shelf (Auto Acoustics might do them) but make sealed enclosures for them so the subs dont interfere with them
4) Put some better 6x9s in the rear quarters and make sure thats fixed tightly
5) Find a four channel amp and power the front speakers and the parcel shelf 6x9s off it, and run the rear quarters off the head unit
6) If that isn't enough quantity you need to speak to an expert! And be prepared to spend a lot of cash....

If you want quality....
1) Components up front. Thats what I intend to do, but you would probably want midranges in the original speaker positions in a new custom enclosure and tweeters close by in the dash. This should be good for the sound stage
2) Have a quality sub in the back with a quality 4 channel amp, 2 channels for the front speakers and 2 channels combined for the sub.
3) If you really want 6x9s, keep them but power them off the amp and keep their volume low, so they dont take the emphasis away from the front

What you want to do sounds like something Carisma would do.... find their website and see their cars!!! Mad. And if you're going to do what you want to do, I would recommend a Power Capacitor and maybe even a second battery with a split charging system, just to keep the juice flowing. Hope I havent rambled too much and have been of some help!

6x9's r poo i hink, if you got subs 6x9's are pointless! Componenets are best, 2 subs amp and 2 set of good components should be loud enough!:D

Wen in the toon slow it down, out it the sticks give it the licks!
