Has arrived. the sticker on the unit says seicento but the welded plate on it says cinquecento?

Plus when I lay it next to the car it looks like its going to butt right up to the centre box. Is this normal or do I have a cinq box?

I had this exact problem with mine mate. Supersprint supply the same box for both.

You have a few choices now, you can either get someone to weld it onto the centre box, get a pipe made up to replace the centre box or and what i recommend (ie, what i did) is buy on of these. I spent ages looking for sports mid-sections and only could find the supersprint one which replaces cat and meets up with the manifold and the one in the link. That one i linked to goes on after the cat and joins to your back box, no welding required ;) Hope this helps

Makes for a nice note, not loud but with a grumble, you'll like it trust me

I orded one for a seicento and it said cinq on it but it did fit.
You have to drop the mid and back section down slightly and then hang the new b/box. Push the old exhaust up close to the b/box and take a measurement from the mid section box to the begining of the swage so as to have enough pipe to slot inside it, then cut the pipe. The super sprint does fit very close to the mid pipe resonator.

Sounds similar to when I fitted my punto supersprint.

get the middle pipe dude, it makes such a lurvley noise with it on.. only £50 odd

Might do yet like. Have you seen Jetex website? They do a 0.5m - 1m straight pipe for about 15 - 18 quid delivered.

might be able to get that to fit i guess, its not perfectly straight though, so you have been warned

Ive ordered one of those pipes bud as the backbox is too long. How long did it take to arrive for you?

Cheers

Ok, all fitted up. The pipe I received was good apart from the fitment to the supersprint which is way to slack. The supersprint comes with a reducer but this was to small.

I ended up cutting a spare reducer section up so I got a snug fit. So all fitted and there hasnt been any decrease in performance (was worried about loosing back pressure when the centre section went) so Im reasonably happy.

Thanks all.

PS. the product above should be made a sticky as it is required for sei sportings + supersprint.

yeah i said that after i found it, took me ages to find one.. So happy with the noise or not?

Its quieter than I expected which is not a bad thing, my induction kit is still over powering lol.

I'll give it a couple of weeks to bed in, they normally go a bit louder.

Cheers for advice bud(y)

Going off the thread topic a bit, but it seems finished, and you lot can surely give me some answers and ideas. Here's hoping your all subscribed ;)

As I'm sure you know I have put the 1.2 16v engine into the Sei. I have the Super Sprint Punto 1.2/1.4 16v manifold, which has a flange at its base.

I need an exhaust system fitted for here on right to te end of the car.

The standard bore of the Sei sporting is ~32mm or 1.25 inches. I am bodging this on now, but it a VERY temp fix.

I was looking at a custom system made up, ~300 without a cat, 500 with, so i went hunting for cheaper alternatives.

Now, looking at the Super Sprint stuff, there is a decat section, that runs flanged from the manifold and on the site they specify a diameter of 44mm, ie. 1.75 inch. If its good enough for emma's 1.4 is good enough for mine ;)

If i get the 1.75 inch decat though, i will obviously get the back box as well. However, is this part standard Sei diameter of 1.25"?? It doesn't mention any diameter on teh site  If it's 1.25" I'll have to rethink and go custom, but if it is 1.75" throughout, i can get the decat and back box for about 170 delivered, a significant saving over a custom system (y)

If you could just confirm your diameters and any thoughts on my plan that would be great (y)

I am prepared to do little cutting, as the 16v manifold may be in a slightly different position, but otherwise, it should hopefully be a straight fit :D

Cheers for your ideas :)

Kristian

The sei supersprint exhaust is defo thinner than my mk2 punto supersprint......

Are you running the original ecu? If you have 2 lambda sensors with mk2 puntos and mk2 seis you have to run a sports cat or the ecu will revert to safety mode all the time.

Ah, ok then, I'll forget the SS idea and get a custom one made.

Yeah, stock ecu. I was hoping it was flag the error, but still work as normal, just having the light on all the time. If it goes into fail safe, that sucks! I'll have to get a cat then :(

Cheers,

Kristian
