There are no hard and fast rules, but guessing that you don't know the service history of the car:

Change oil/oil filter/air filter/antifreeze/brake fluid/fuel filter

Check gearbox oil level/clutch adjustment/check wear on front and rear brakes/check handbrake functions correctly on both wheels/adjust handbrake

You could change the timing belt and adjuster pulley and I'd suggest you check the condition of the driveshaft boots, especially if it's an S or SX.

There's not really a "right order" but it makes sense to check the pads and disks for wear before changing the fluid and to take a peek at the driveshaft boots before topping up the gearbox oil.

Haynes and the guides here pretty much essential. While you're crawling under the car, take a good peek around.

Servicing intervals.these should apply to sei's as well

At 40k and no previous history by the sounds of it, as well as the timing belt like fingers said, i would get the cambelt done as well

omg i didnt realise it was so much work lol well ive fitted my new ebc drilled and grooved disks and green stuff pads so thats one job out of the way. ive got the new sparks and leads and fuel filter, i got a k and n air filter thats new so that should be ok. im so stupid really because theres ne excuse for me leaving the car to get like this, its never actually had a service at all :( woops ! how do i change the engine oil like completely drain it out and fill it with new?

Yep, make sure that when you kick the tray of old engine oil over that you mop it up afterwards :D .

With the exception of the cam belt, none of the above is difficult, and even the cam belt is do-able by a diy mechanic. You may want to get a Cinq haynes manual for the finer details though.

Warm the engine up. (Till the fan comes on at least twice.) Get a washing up bowl under the sump. Use 12mm allen key (maybe with a bar over the end, it will be tight) to undo the plug, let the oil drain into the bowl. While it's draining remove the oil filter and replace it (hand tight, but as tight as you can by hand). Immediately before you put the new filter on, smear the rubber washer with new engine oil. Leave it to drain for 20 minutes or so, replace the sum plug (only use the allen key, no bar), slowly fill up with oil (semi synthetic 15/40 or so should be fine, I like Magnatec, but wot the ell). Check oil level with dipstick (don't overfill), run the engine for 5 minutes, leave for 5 and check again, top up (slowly -- it won't take much at all) if necessary. Clean up. Dipose of waste oil at local tip.

BTW, no point in changing oil if you don't change the filter.
