(G) gearboxes

hi, could anybody tell me if the box in a 889seic. is the same as the one in a cinq, are they interchangeable.the box in my sons 1999 seic. sounds like it will self distruct anytime now!! oil etc. ok.,it was originaly a citymatic but was converted to a manual,it only has 31000 mls on the clock!! advice will be gratefully received thanks

Have you checked the oil? Slowly losing the gearbox oil is an 899 part trick. They tend to be a lot quieter with lubricant in them.

They leak past the driveshaft gaiters, however, if the car is an 899, then either a Sei or Cinq 899 box will fit.
