Not planning to fit alloys at all ... just want to put some wheel spacers on the car. Well i brought 3mm wheel spacers from liam and they fittied fine, but i assume they were actual fiat ones..

Do what kind of work needed to be done using a universal wheel spacers??

cheers

Will that fit ok ??? or do i need something specific type for the cinq and i see there are some universal ones, would they fit ok ??

I think they're called mini wheel spacers 'cos they're for a mini. :bang:

They won't fit. Universal ones will fit but are ****e. You really need ones for a Fiat or 4 stud Alfa: 98mm pcd, preferably with the 2 holes for the mounting bolts, too. A google for wheel spacers will find some. Alternatively, consider a stud conversion.

thanks dave :) , shall order them

what is the difference between these two :

Type 13
A
2x5mm
4x98
58.1
144(part number)
£17.13

Type 12
A
2x5mm
4x98
58.1
7937 ( part number)
£29.00

?

Also on the site it says

Type 12 - These car specific spacers are fitted between the hub and the wheel using the long bolts provided

Type 13 - These universal spacers are fitted between the hub and the wheel using the original nuts or bolts

So am i right assuming is the type 12 i need??

Type 12 would be better, universal spacers are a general pain to use. Personally, after finally getting around to reconverting my Sei to studs, I'd get a set of universal studs and use those as well...

avoid Type 13, they dont come with the longer bolts, and are uni fit thats a bugger to fit them

Like I mentioned in the PM you can probably get away with normal bolts on 5mm, I did, but its a risk IMHO, one I took and would again, but there will be less turns on the thread.

If you want to space it out more, the FIAT 10mm spacers are nice, and you can get studs from www.rallydesign.co.uk for FAR cheaper than FIAT.

If you are on a budget though, I'd spend elsewhere.

5mm on fronts made a small difference to handling. 10mm made it feel a lot more stable, better turn in, etc. but the costs are a lot higher.

Universal spacers are not always balanced with eth multi holes all over them to be used with diff PCD's, they have no centre ring so can be off centered when fitting wheel on top, all of which can lead to wheel wobble.

I'd just add that unless you run a stud conversion or drill them to take the disk retaining bolts, fitting a wheel becomes a real character building or 2 person operation.

The budget trick is to find an Alfa 155 at a breakers and get the spacers (from memory they're 8mm) the wheelbolts (possibly have to shorten them to suit the steel wheels) and the disk retaining bolts.
