what goes here?

Just wanted to know what fits into the panel next to the window switches?

My car has a small accessory switch there, its wires go into the loom behind but I cant seem to see what it does, it doesnt switch engine fan or anything, do cinqs have a standard switch there? or a blank panel?

thanks

This is a random ebay pic, with my arrow on [could even be your car!]

Re: what goes here?

nope, mine dont have that. it looks like it was a blank panel [its a 1997 car, if thats any use], and it has a red illuminated switch in, it lights up when 'on' but doesnt appear to actually control anything, and as the wires go into the loom, cant really trace them to anything specific.

Re: what goes here?

Sorry for digging up an old thread!
Mine has a push/pull type switch there??
Kinda looks like a choke, but its click out or click in. Doesnt seem to do anything, although if I put my hand in behind, it seems to be wired up.

Anybody any idea what it is? Can post a pic tomorrow

Can't be a choke, will be some kind of retrofittage. Fire extinguisher pull? Any signs of the car having been used for competition?

Re: what goes here?

Does it turn? could be a hand throttle like in the old Panda 4x4

Could also be a switch to activate the wiring for a tow bar that may have been fitted in the past

The initial owner on it was an old lady who put up 7,500 miles from 1997 to April this year!! Don't think she was into competitions, but you never know?

No. Tried it a while ago. Just pulls out or pushes in. No turn. Also, there was never a tow bar fitted previously.

Seems very odd. Doesnt seem to do anything at all. Need to trace the wires some time and find out what its for

Re: what goes here?

I traced my wires, they just went into the boot not wired to anything, but am guessing maybe a small amp in its previous life, so as the wires are obsolete I remeved them.

Have found that one of my headlights has a motor thing attached to it, with original wiring plugged in, but theres no sign of original wiring behind that switch where the headlight adjuster should be
