Re: Brake Line Unions

Sure it's that but can't confirm like yourself, it's a pretty standard thread across many cars.

Re: Brake Line Unions

I've just had all the brake lines redone on my Seicento and I'm sure that the unions were as you stated.

Re: Brake Line Unions

They are definately metric, but I can't remember whether coarse or fine. Coarse I think, but don't quote me on it.

I have a box of unions and match it to the one I take off.

Cheers

I think he's looking for the thread size, not the spanner size.

Cheers

There are two popular sizes of metric 10 x 1 and 10 x 1.25 then there is course and fine threads available in each so that is a 75% chance of guessing wrong

Yes it is a bit obstical to working on the car when you're not actually in the same country as it

Not unless you can get one to someone who can tell you which thread size it actually is I'm pretty sure they are the ones I think but if i get it wrong i'm screwed for doing anything about it as I'm working away all next week again

No! 10x1 is M10 fine, 10x1.25 is M10 coarse. All modern metric threads have an angle of 60 degrees, !0mm is the o/d, 1,1.5 etc. the pitch. Folk will say "10mm 1.25 coarse" when they mean "10mm 1.25 (coarse)."

So 50% chance of getting it wrong.
