My central locking seems to lock itself sometimes when I put my foot on the floor the drivers side. The car has an alarm and remote central locking but I think it's stock installed. Are there any known issues, or do I have to investigate under the carpet?

I don't know of any issues. Suspect that cabling passes under the floor and that insulation has chaffed.

The alarm remote was an option. So it could be either a Fiat or aftermarket system. Chances are that if you post a pic of your plipper someone here will be able to tell.

This problem is getting worse, it locks and unlocks at random, particularly it seems when investigating under the dashboard but it does it even when you've just opened the car door!

I can't see any pattern in what I'm doing that's setting it off.

What's wrong?

Dodgy erath connection possibly. Every time you moe something its making the contact.

Where will the earth be, providing it's a stock system?

Just looked at my original reply, and I guess my typing was a bit crap. Sorry.

There will be many earths, not eraths. Lift the carpet at the footwell and try tracing wires.

If you haven't got a manual, get one, your gonna need it.

Check the door lock motor isn't falling off.

Fixed this ages ago, just forgot to reply!

It turned out to be a dodgy connection on the central locking control unit - good old Haynes manual!
