Seicento Sporting Blaupunkt CD/Radio not working

I have a 1999 Seicento Sporting, with a Blaupunkt Lausanne CD31 installed. However, when I try to play CDs, it says "CD error", and the radio is just a load of fuzzy noises (like when you are trying to tune it in). I have scanned for every station, but to no avail. I have heard of some having to put in a code for it to work, but it doesn't prompt for me to do this. I am also unsure of where the serial for the radio is to get this code. There is an off-white sticker on the back of the unit itself, but this has worn with age, taking with it any print that may have been on there. Any ideas guys?
