Wiper motor acting up?

My front windscreen wiper started to act up this morning, it often was sending the offside wiper beyond the end of the screen, no longer parks properly (it will stop at a random point) & intermittent wipe now isn't intermittent but permanent wipe. Now I assume that it needs a new motor as that is the only thing I can think of that'll cause of of those symptoms.

If I is the case will a punto wiper motor work on a cento? As I have one laying about I might as well use it if I can. I noticed however that my Sei only has intermittent and permanent wipe rather than int', slow & fast of the punto.

There are two potential problems here. The non parking is a supply problem, the clacking off the end of the screen is either a linkage or spindle problem.

I don't know whether the punto motor will fit, but with an additional connector you may have to do a spot of rewiring.

Cheers

Re: Wiper motor acting up?

If they happened as isolated times I'd agree with you, the thing is however both started at exactly the same time, I'm scratching my head with this one.

The wipers worked fine for the first 10 min of my journey to work then I moved from intermittent wipe to single wipe as I passed a lorry and it was then it started going off the end of the screen then on release it went all the way down and started to come up again parking at about 30 degrees, flicked it again and it ended up stopping just past getting back onto the wind screen. Left it there until it started to rain again and now I just had two permanent wipes, same speed, and it didn't park properly on release.
