Seicento GT Turbo

Hi, im starting a project next year and as you would have guessed by the title im thinking of buying a nice lil seicento arbath and putting in a punto gt engine, think of the power to weight ratio!!!, i know this will be alot of work, but im to busy to do it myself can anyone reccommend a few companys that can help me do this and possibly some prices? Cheers Manic

Re: Seicento GT Turbo

The info's in the FAQ's and stickies...

I cant recommend anyone specific, but if youre paying someone to do it...I wouldnt expect much or any change from £5000...

Oh and Hi BTW...

Re: Seicento GT Turbo

dont bother. fit a 1368cc 16v and turbo that. i bet it'd work out cheaper than paying someone to make that heavy punto engine fit. of course if u had to pay someone else to fit that 1368.. hmm anyway.

ok the punto engine doesnt fit. its too tall. search

Re: Seicento GT Turbo

why wont it fit if it too tall, why not put a bulge in the bonnet or tilt the engine some what, if every one thinks like a lot of people do then nothing different would happen

it is too tall, yes. the UT engine isn't though. that'll fit.

may i suggest you fit a different engine. maybe a 1242 16v, and turbo it? the GT engine is too heavy and wrecks the handling.

i can't remember the guys name, but there was someone who had a UT engined Sei - and he agreed with me, it was a poor engine for making the car handle.

Thats a myth Im sure...The 1.3,1.4 and 1.6 old SOHC units were the same block, with varying bores to account for the displacements.

The UT is the 1300cc and 1400cc and the PGT is the 1400cc.

Theres all probability that the PGT engine sits higher in the bay than the UT and thats where the myth comes from....but I assure you that theyre the same block...

But it has been done before, it doesn't seem to work very well and if you can't do it yourself, why bother?

think of the power to weight ratio!!!
Well less than the Cossie Turbo Cinq or either of the projected Alfa V6 engined ones (one of which should be nearing completion).

I had that in mind if I had to do it all over a Rx7 wankel engine is a quite good option for a cinq. std 240 BHP and a light small engine.

And they're said to be very good when supercharged: 400 reliable BHP?
