Re: timing belt

Replace the pulley bearing while you're at it: it'll be fine.

altohugh all the guieds fail to mention the following tools required

cup of tea...and brought to you hot and steaming without the need for you to ask
wife on hand to swear at
a small child with ricketts to do up the alternator pinch bolt

Re: timing belt

Probably worthwhile doing the water pump while in there, but unless the headgasket is blowing, I can't see the logic in replacing that.

Re: timing belt

Rocker cover gasket is not £30 and takes 15 mins too fit, and is nothing to do with HG or water pump.

I just don't want you to do the HG and pump if there's no need. They may go wrong afterwards lol, when they were fine before.

if the "top of the housing" is cracked, then a gasket will not help anyway. IF its cracked about the HG, then you have a cracked head!!!! If the rocker cover is cracked, its a LOT cheaper, and can poss be bodged without replacement.

Post up a picy of your "HG" crack and oil leak.

Not trying to be a dick, but don't want you to get stuff done thats just plain wrong.
