(T) Electric windows and windscreen washer

The windscreen washer on my cinquecento has recently stopped working for no apparent reason. It randomly works, but not very often and was wondering whether anyone had any idea before I go and spend a forture at a garage! The other thing in is the electric window on the drivers side has also packed up, again for no apparent reason. It was working one day, and then not the next.....its all very odd.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be more than greatful for hear them. Cheers, Abi

when you say the washers don't work, what do you mean exactly. Does the pump work, ie can you hear the water pump when you go to use them but no water or does it do nothing at all??

Have you checked the fuse for the window??

No, I cant hear the motor, so I thought it was the fuse but because it works sometimes, it cant be.

As for the window, its only the drivers side, and as far as i can tell both front windows are on the same fuse, so it cant be that........

Try cleaning up the electrical connection to the pump under the wing. I had the symptoms you describe with my starter solenoid - sometimes completely fine, others completely dead - and I fixed it by removing the connection, scuffing it with emery paper, giving it a squirt of contact cleaner, and reattaching.

Ok, thanks for the advice, but where is the motor?!

Driver's side wheelarch, under the plastic liner. Clean up the contacts and cover with vasaline.



Same proceedure, but the motor is inside the door.
