(G) Dash pics

ive not picked my project now for a while and im really starting to debate what the best option is now to finish off the dash. im making complete custom fibreglass door cards that cover the whole door like most other cars and i want these to be smooth and painted ash black metalic. do you think it would look odd if all of the plastics in the car are smoothed and painted and the dash is flocked? only other option would be to leather off the dash and use red stichind around the inserts etc. any ideas?

not a big fan of the whole idea, but it looks like a good job and a well done one. Tidy work mate

why would you want to cover the full door, the metal gives it a sporty look if your wanting a full cover door card dident the sx seicento have them (with the cloth) would they not fit better and cheaper and i think if your going to cover it in leather and red stitching (would look great by the way) you,ll have to cover your seat to now that would look great so far so good.

also whats going on with the dash is it painted yet , i used to work at a body work shop and im sure hey had some spray that was used on repaired bumpers (filled) and when sprayed on it made it look like standard textured bumper can't remember the name of it but i'll try to find out, cause if you could spray it matt black/textured and more standard it looks the better as glossy finish would reflect on the windcreen

and do you still have any of thses custom center consoles if so how much do ya want for one with a dubble din hole pm me please

right guys ive been beatin round the bush and putting the dash off now for too long so now its time to paint. i am definoutly going to be painting it this weekend so would like peoples opinions of wether it should be ford ash black metalic or flocked im torn between the two. i undertsand i will get glare but this is for show purposes only but if i use the car im going to need to make a cover cloth for the top of the dash to hide the glare away. what do you guys think ? please help me to decide

flock for me.. that way no glare aswell, and it looks so nice!

id go flocked to. prob with some red trim or something n the edges. now that would look swish. yer do you have any of those custom center consoles left. jsut remembered it was you who was making them.

yeah i make the consoles so if anyone wants one let me know and il make it to how you would like

after a lot of time 2nite ive managed to smooth the grain out of the centre tray on the floor and also cut the end off that sits under the new centre console i made. il post a pic in the morning. i also now have got the 2 pillar plastics rubbed down now ready for paint pics in the morning 2 ! id really appreciate people honest opinions on this coz it could help me decide if i should make any improvements before it all goes back in at the weekend

the project continues ! here are the pictures of the pillar trims all rubbed now now smooth with no grain ready for painting and also the plastic cover thingy which covers the air bag doofa under the dash.

the next part of the project that im doing tonight is these rear plastics pictured need to be stripped back to standard. i fibreglassed these ages ago now to have speakers in when my old boot install was in. now im redoing my whole car these need to be stripped back to standard and cleaned up because i took these out of the car a few months ago now and have left them outside the side of the shed and there not looking to good for themselves lol il post the pictures of them standard tonight. what do you lot think of the project so far?

heres the pictures of the center tray which i cut down with the air saw because the end sits under the center console. It has been sanded completely smooth to lose the texture. This was a nightmare to sand but it is almost ready now for painting all of the dash and the other parts will be painted at the same time so i must get these parts ready. This is a really big project but the most time consuming parts are almost over tell me what u think

i'd flock it too. in fact i am with mine. last time i painted a dash, it was awfull when the sun came out cos of the glare.

prob wht you never find a glossy dash as standard.
