| taffy git | Wires, switches and neons I need to wire a neon sub protector, interior neon and a laser to my car. I have no idea bout electronics:I I want them on seperate switches so I have brought 3 of them. How do I go about wiring them up, they say they connect direct to a 12v source so I guess this is the battery, i also assume that they will need to run through fuse[?] Do I just run the positive and negative to the switch, then a positive and negative to the battery. Can I have all 3 going into 1 thing so I only have 2 wires going to the battery. Im sorry for being "vague" and "thingy" goes where, but as I said i dont have a clue. Thanks Gaz ![]() Seicento Sporting, Modified Front Bumper, Saxo Custom Spoiler, Abarth Side Skirts, Bad Boy Bonnet, Afterburner Rear Lenses, 4" Powerflow Exhaust System, Abarth 14" Alloys. | Principality Retained :) | What yu could do is take a fused 12v feed (put a fuse on a wire coming from the battery) and attach it to one line of each switch attach the other line of each switch to the 12v in of each item yu want to switch. You can return the signal, well, earth all of the items by attaching a line from the GND, Ground or Earth of each to a point on the bodywork that touches bare metal...as in a standard ICE installation. Thats the best and simplest way I can recommend! Tom (AofB) GrpN Catback Exhaust system is here...just need to get the bleeder on now!!

| taffy git | i dont really want it on when the ignition is on cause they will be in the boot. I have tried a quick jobbie with a switch and it started smoking, i guess that aint good. I think I will let someone who knows what there doing wire it up for me ![]() Seicento Sporting, Modified Front Bumper, Saxo Custom Spoiler, Abarth Side Skirts, Bad Boy Bonnet, Afterburner Rear Lenses, 4" Powerflow Exhaust System, Abarth 14" Alloys. | this is where i stand | if it smoked then you either got the polarity wrong, or it shorted out on whatever it was resting on. its probably dead now btw Cinq Sporting - and yes, its broom yellow!

| taffy git | it was on my new amp:(, i think i have blown the fuse on that, im not sure though. I wish they would mark the cables positive or negative. I used the blue as positive and the clear cable was negative i assume that these was correct ![]() Seicento Sporting, Modified Front Bumper, Saxo Custom Spoiler, Abarth Side Skirts, Bad Boy Bonnet, Afterburner Rear Lenses, 4" Powerflow Exhaust System, Abarth 14" Alloys. | :) | A neon (well, these lights aren't really neon are they, they use a different cheaper gas if I am correct...), is only gas that is arced by a high voltage put accross them. Therefore polarity is irrelevent, just like using a light bulb or any other resistor. My first signiture (a lot of thought put into it): If you can't find the switch to switch your fogs off I am sure I can help you! Damn fogs.

| taffy git | it aint really a neon, i call it that cause its easier, its a LED sub protector. i havent attempted to wire the neon in yet ![]() Seicento Sporting, Modified Front Bumper, Saxo Custom Spoiler, Abarth Side Skirts, Bad Boy Bonnet, Afterburner Rear Lenses, 4" Powerflow Exhaust System, Abarth 14" Alloys. | Also, when ever ur touchin the lectrics always good to have ur multimeter on standby, i never trust the coloured wires, they could be lying to me, and we all have different opinions on what is blue and what is green (or maybe thats just me bein strange), so i always test em, u can get a multimeter for about £6 from wilkinsons or off ebay
