Sei Sporting Rear Bumpers

Hi All,

Mr Motorcycle Man did his best Eddie the Eagle impersonation and slid at about 5 mph on his side into the back of the Schumi.

So slow it was like watching a replay in the rear view mirror!

Fortunately, no damage other than a split to the rear bumper - nothing behind or above or underneath to tailgate/irons/chassis/fuel tank etc. Phew!

I know there is a bit of extra trim on an spi' rear bumper (just below the number-plate recess/above the mesh), but does anybody know if an spi sei rear bumper will fit straight on to an mpi sei with no other issues?

I have searched the forum and found plenty of comment on the inter-change-ability of front Sporting Sei bumpers, but could not find a yes/no on the rears.

Been offered a great condition rear spi bumper in the right colour, but do not want to spend too long on it if it needs modding and certainly do not want to introduce any gaps etc.

Thanks for your time on this

I'm pretty sure the rears are interchangeable. But as it's a 15 minute job, why not try it before you paint it up?

Don't really want to buy it and find out it doesn't fit after the event.

I'm sure the spi and mpi flat reds were both code 199 Tiziano Red, so ifs in the condition I have been told it is, then hopefully wouldn't need any paint.

Yep sure it fits as well.

As mentioned there is that coloured strip which you will need to colour code or get rid of, not sure if its colour coded or not on at all on an MPI, however consider doing this as well as people in the know will be able to spot from a mile off this isnt a factory stock part for this model and it could be a bargaining tool come resale time.

If its in good nick and a decent price i would snap it up.
