Vibration from the dash

Help! I've had my Seicento Sporting for about 12 months Know, But there's been a lot of vibration that makes a lot of noise through the dash board when sitting staionery and every time I take it to a garage they don't know what's wrong.
So far i have had the engine mounts changed but its made it worse.
I know it had a bump cos there's matt black paint on the inside just under the passenger window and lovely shiny black paint everywhere else.
I'm thinking about selling it but I love the car too much can anyone shed some light on this?

Donz,
Get your wheels rebalanced. Mine used to shake at 95+, then I swapped the wheels front to back and got mega steering wheel wobble. The monkeys who fitted my tyres (won't go there again) hadn't balanced the back ones properly. Had them redone at a reputable place and now smooth all the way up to 117! hee hee!!

odd, mine idles at slightly below 1000 too, does yours stall if you leave it idling?

anyone know how much balancing costs? mine is pulling to the left quite a bit and when I go over biggish bumps the steering feels awful light and sometimes kind of skids out.

They should idle at 900rpm or so when warm.

Graham, if it pulls to the left, it could be bad rear brakes (one side dragging) which is not a new thing for Cinqs and Seis.
Alternatively, it could be sticky front brakes caused by a bad caliper, or uneven tyre pressures. If you have a different make of tyre on each side this could do it too. Don't want to start listing things like crash damage though [:0]

Wheel balancing stops shake, usually most felt at 65 mph and 90+ on mine. It doesn't make the steering pul to one side.

Cheers Pete, you are indeed the Fiat Guru!

It might well be the front tyre - I am running Good Year Eagle Touring all round but got a puncture the other day and had to settle for a cheapo "Nankang"!!!!

I'll swap it for one of the backs and see if it makes a difference.

You din't happen to see my post about the noise I got going on at the moment when the clutch is dipped and the engine warm? any ideas on that one?

Cheers

Graham

Yeah, I didn't reply as I think RiB has hit the nail on the head - new clutch time. [V]
