Ive Got a cento sporting 97 and my fuel tanks weeping round the seal ><
phoned fiat and still waiting for a responce was just wondering if anyone could shed some light if it was required for a recall or not =/

i think there was a recall, my 1999 seicento was recalled for a faulty petrol tank...you could smell the petrol inside my car for weeks!

The petrol tank on my sei had rotted!

On the faceof it, the recall applies. Rather than waiting for Fiat to ring you, I'd pop into your local dealership................

Well they phoned back and said it didnt apply but i fail too see how...

Have really lost intrest in my car today, Woke up this morning to find some one had smashed the rear tailgate glass, went to get a replacement fitted (cost me £60.00) then on the way back my clutch just died got it on the lift today at work to look at my clutch and wala get pi$$ed on by my fuel tank.

Wow, you ARE having a $#!tty time of it! Clutch cable at least should be fairly easy! Good luck with it all...

The only reason they could have denied you a free one is if the tank has already been recalled and replaced in the past, however there is another recall out on the tanks for seis anyway i wouldve thought applied to cinqs as well.

I would take this data to another dealership and take it from there.

The tanks do come up on ebay for not too much money if you are really struggling

i recently had to get my fuel tank replaced, when i asked the mechanic he said that the cinqs where recalled because of the the fault, cost me abut 80quid to fix includin labour, but had to wait about 2 weeks for part to come in as they had to ship it from italy as apparently the part is well sought after?

its fairly common but the main point is the dealers dont want an £80 part on the shelf so order as needed

Some people seem to still get it done for free and others don't have as much luck, just need to call your local fiat garage and have a chat. Even if they won't do it free thats defo worth going to get checked out.

Your vin is between the numbers so i would defo try and get it done for free
