fooked water pump?

i've noticed on me cinq that whenn my cinq is at idle eg.in traffic after a few seconds the hot air from the heater becomes cold, then if i pick up thr revs to say 1200Rpm or so the air warms up again, and upon driving off the air becomes hot.now i'm thinking that the fins on the water pump are corroded and so its not pumping as much water round the system as it should ,anyone agree/disagree?[xx(]

Could be the matrix in the heater or the radiator that is blocked??

i had that problem, but the other way round, it would pump cold air in, but stuck in traffic it would start pumping hot air in. Was fixed when i replaced the thermostat.

Water pump is weak, that's definite. It is fairly common, both my 899s have done it.

Cheers
