Angry Grays Fiat in warwick

my car was taken in to have a fuel tank recall sorted out and have new rear suspension arms fitting due to squeaking worn/old bushes. a few days later when i had the car at home, was driving along and my car seemed to have picked up a dreadful squeal! was really worrying, i had wealbearings running through my mind, anyway, i get down and look underneath to find what was the FUEL LINE from my tank hanging down, not attatched to the chassis, with the emergency fuel line cut switch thing dangling down aswell!! i quickly bolted it back to its mount, then the noise continued, after closely looking round the wheel arches, i see the HANDBRAKE CABLE running straight through the arch and then to the hub, it had not been properly routed around the tank and along the suspension arm! it was physically rubbing on the tyre!!! due to the friction it was worn down to the metal core and 2 layers of plastic outer had been worn through due to the contact with the tyre!!! i was discuted, considering i had paid nearly £400 for the work, to get my car back in a DANGEROUS condition.

Grays - what were they thinking!!!!

ive got pics of it all aswell

Yeah and phone Fiat UK as well and complain about their service... I actually did that before notifying the dealer, about 3 hours before as I couldn't get through to customer services before lunch, and when I phoned in the afternoon Fiat UK had obviously had words with the dealer already as the guy knew everything about the car & that I hadn't been able to contact them by phone.

Grays workshop guys, or at least the ones i had the "pleasure" of coming into contact with were complete and utter

Involved my car having the p taken out of it and one saying i should've got a corsa iirc (or something similar anyway) got me quite wound up

Re: Grays Fiat in warwick

I've had no problems as of yet with them, but I have mainy been dealing in parts dept which seems one of the best out there.

e.g. ordered nearly 150 pounds worth of not "common" parts a couple of weeks back had a call at 9 the next morning saying they had arrived. Plus they keep a hell of a lot in stock.

If I went to my local (SGM in Southampton) they take three days usually and thats not after dealing with the "bright spark" (not) on the parts desk. They literally only stock the basics like belts and oil filters.

On the other hand work like you have discribed is appauling to say the least, so take the photos down there and have a rant!!
