Hey there all, i have a 899cc Seicento SX and to cut a long story short, my friend accidently had his knee on the window button (we dont know how long for). He assumed it was me that opened the window and took no notice. However, when we've come to do the window up it doesnt budge.. it is stuck down in the door.

We checked the fuses in the fuse box, which seem ok. So we checked the switches themselves, and the wiring behind the switchs (even switching the switches to be sure) which also seem fine. Was also advised to disconnect the battery then re-connect it to see if that corrects it, but to no avail. We called the AA who were also unable to get the glass up/out, saying it would be cheaper to go to a garage and sort it out because if he cuts the wrong thing it could cost alot more.

What could it be?

I'm thinking its the motor which lifts the window has gone due to the button being held down for too long. Is there anything else i could check? Also, anyone have an idea on price for this work?

Thanks alot,
Carl.

I'd imagine it is the motor, get one from a scrapyard if you can, should only be about £10/£15, and then follow the procedure from a Hayne's Cinquecento manual, bearing in mind the door cards are different, as I'd imagine the motors etc are exactly the same. Will save you some money :).

I think you have seperate fuses under the left hand side of the nappy changing unit on your car. Worth a check.

If not, then whip the door card off and use a test light to make sure you are getting a supply at the motor, before assuming its the motor.

Then chop your mate off above the knee so it doesn't happen again.

Cheers
