Wheel bolt clicking issue.

I have new wheels on the sei, I bought the correct lengthened bolts and I get arond 6-7 turns on the rears.

Problem is when I do hardish turns to the right (weight passed passenger side) I get a clicking sound as though one of the bolts is fouling the brake drum internals.

I havent managed to have a closer look yet but I took 1 bolt out at a time and couldnt see any scuffs on the ends.

What i dont understand is why would it do it only under pressure? Surely if the bolt was too long then it would do it all the time?

Any ideas?

Ps i am assuing it is a wheel bolt........

Re: Wheel bolt clicking issue.

Are you sure the bolts are securing the wheel properly? sounds like the wheel is loose.

cheers

Re: Wheel bolt clicking issue.

Could be the above or one bolt longer than the rest (daft as it sounds, I've had this recently). If you pull the bolts it should be obvious which one needs shortening slightly.

Re: Wheel bolt clicking issue.

LanicaMad, had similar problems with my Sei, when for the correct length bolts and they were to long . Now what I did was to buy the cheapest bolts I could. I made sure no spacers were on the hubs and then put the bolts in, doing round all wheels filing off 1mm at a time until they no longer caught. At that point I measured the length of the bolts do a little maths to correct for the use of spacers and there we are I have the correct bolt length
