i bought my first Cinq private. The only reason I paid extra by buying trade with this one because they would accept the old one as part-x. Which was handy!!

Is there anyway to get a HPI check done if i buy private? (think thats a silly questions) My dad rang greenflag and they said for someone to check the car over it was going to be about 120quid. I was like ERM i will think about it dad, not saying that i did not want to pay that much knowing that HPI checks cost less than half that.

WIll I have to take the car to a garage after I have bought it privately? Suppose i could ask the owners if thry would get one done for me?

Look at the condition of the car to get an idea of the mileage, if theres dents and scratches all over it chances are its done a lot more than 28k, check the bolster on the drivers seat, if its got excessive wear might show a higer mileage, and of course the pedals, if they look like they've done more than 28K then they more than likely have!

listen to the engine. give it revs and see how it runs. I looked at a sporting before this one and it was misfiring. along with the fact that it only came with one blue key drove me away very quickly!

Oh, look at coolant levels, round the radiator - check for no leaks. Also look at oil, If its mayonaise colour around the filler \ dipstick or coolant has oil in it the head gasket may have gone!
