| thermostat worry hello, The top hose on my 899cc cinq was weeping at the stat end so i took it off and cleaned off the ally oxide etc. Whilst doing this i peered into the stat body and noticed something that didn't look right, I can see what looks like a piece of a seal of some sort trapped between the body and what I assume is the valve part (It is totally different in construction to the old brit stuff i'm used to!) it is light in colour and the dia of the hose. I've no over heating probs. but maybe it warms up a bit slowly. anyone any ideas? Tom

| Re: thermostat worry I would test the thermostat as follows:- Start engine from cold. Put your hand on the radiator. Wait for it to warm up. The radiator should stay cold while the engine warms up. When the thermostat opens, the whole radiator should get hot very quickly. If the radiator gets warm slowly, as the engine warms up, it is stuck open.

| Re: thermostat worry Will try that, still a bit worried about the way it looked, if it dislodged i suppose it could jam it closed. may just replace it. cheers tom
