Stupid question of the day

Ok, it's Friday and my brain isn't working as it should be. I'll get straight to it, how do I tell if my Sei Sporting has power steering? If I do have it, it aint working. If it is working already it's pointlessly heavy.[8D]

i think all sei sportings have power steering....

if you can turn the wheel from full lock to full lock with one finger, then it has power steering..

looks like i'm wrong mark, if baby's don't have it, it could mean that some, if not all mk1's are without power steering.

Ok, back to my first question then, how do I tell whether I've got it and it's not working or if I just haven't got it?[8D]

Mine's a T reg '99 (in dark grey which I haven't seen before)
How do I tell if it's SPi or MPi? Were the MPi's the facelifted ones with jap style front spoilers? If so Mine isn't one of those!

Now this is what threw me, according to my old Parkers guide, it says that the Sporting has power steering but was not introduced on the SX until late '99, so in theory I should have it. As it's electric PAS there is no reservoir to fill so it's not just a case of looking for that. There must be somewhere that can tell me one way or another. The Porters guide doesn't even mention Seicento PAS.
I've read a lot of owners have problems with their PAS with it not cutting in where it should.

There should be an electric motor connected to the steering column under the dash if it's got pas. Should be a little warning light flash up when you first start too.

I'll have a look at lunch, thanks. Would i be right in saying that fitting PAS would be easy then if I haven't got it? (I don't think I will if I haven't but it's nice to know)
