Re: Wont start

Awww no way. is that why you tried ringing me, im at work till 8 i can then drive down to banbury to help you if you like or alternatively is anyone at your work a member of a breakdown company with level 3/4+ breakdown as if they are a passenger in your vehicle they can still get a callout on your vehicle even if it aint on their policy

Re: Wont start

fuel pump whirs and definately getting petrol out of the injector

whirring at normal speed

Tried to get it going with a few mates and a bump start but it just revved quicker on the starter

Just renewed RAC membership (well made it since jan without lol ) and they're coming out within 2-3 hours hopefully they'll fix it

Would still start if the timings out or at least turn over

Just a thought: if the belt has broken, will the valve springs return the valves to shut? If so, compression will be fine, spark and fuel I dunno.

All in all, I think a quick investigation of the timing may be in order.

Re: Wont start

further thought into it,

Compression would be out if timing was out as valves would be open at same time and no compression

Have just run a cloth between the tdc/crank sensor and the belt (tried to get it off to clean it) and it backfired when i tried to start it that time (although its dead now, the tow home with lights on killed batt)

so i think its probably/possibly the TDC sensor, got one coming next day delivery off arc with any luck and will ring a couple of places tomorrow see if i can get hold of one tomorrow at all

edit: sorry forgot to say the belt is there in one piece and doesnt seem to have slipped at all, plus very strange how it could be running 100% fine when left running after drive to work (let turbo circulate oil for a bit) then not work when come back
