Interior heater ,very,very hot

hi all.
can any one help me.when i have the heater on hot with the fan on the air coming out is so hot you cant hold your hand in front of it for more than a few seconds.is this normal.the car is a 1999 scicento sporting.also would it do any harm to have the radiator fan on all the time.it was not cutting in when getting hot so a mate connected the fan up to be on all the time.

Hi!

Your problem doesnt sound right no.

Id think your fan switch on the rad is broken if the fan isnt cutting in.

But the hot isnt usually uncomfortably so - to me Id think the coolant is getting far too hot in part of the system...Id be think its either due to a broken thermostat or if its not getting cooled adequately (by the fan and radiator)

With AOB on this, but how long has this been the case? I notice that in this weather, with the heater off and the fan on full, the air is uncomfortably hot for 5 minutes or so.

Whatever, you should fix the switch: sometimes it'kll just be corroded contacts or frayed wires.
