What now?

Looking to colour code the car generally - well not colour code it, sorta change it a bit and need some opinions.

Car is 99 so as it sits it has lots of blue things on it!! thinking of changing the side strips to MPI black ones, and gettin the front and rear "bars" on teh bumpers sprayed black also. not sure how this will look - and need some opinions.

Other thing is RE the front bumper. As you can see from the pics the bumper has 2 black "rub strips" - these are covering some pretty nasty scrapes.

SO can either 1.get bumper resprayed, 2. uy e-bay bumper - the standard SPI bumper with a splitter on the bottom and have it sprayed too or 3. Buy a MPI bumper.

what should i do?? all opinions welcome

Re: What now?

i painted my bits under bonnet and along back bumper black, i say go for it but put more lacquer on than me, its taken a pounding from stones etc and is covered in chips.

As OZ says, stick with your bumper with a splitter, theres a few out there or you could make your own.

What suspension you running, looks sweet

If you do decide to use another bumper, I'm interested in buying yours!

i will remember that - just remember its in NI - postage is pretty hefty!!

Only thing im worried about in a new bumper of any kind is the colour - when i removed the badges on the back no TCutting was required, there was no colour fade. And all bar one tiny inch square part on the passenger side wing is the same shade of yellow, so i am hoping it hasnt changed that much over the 7 years its been in NI?? dont want to fork out cash for a respray and then it to look completely crap, know what i mean?

Re: What now?

personally don't like the black bump strips, i would remove them myself. I shouldn't think that paint fade would be that noticeable on yellow if it has althougth i don't think it'd cost much to spray a bumper.

Re: What now?

If you remove them strips, there are holes up the doors

Re: What now?

i meant the bits on the bumper. but your right there is a small hole in the door (at the back). Its no biggy though, there is a part you can get from fiat to cover it iirc. Or just a bit of SAV works fine. I heard of people that have just left it without any problems but that looks silly. I recommend getting a yellow offcut from a place that makes vynil graphics, you only need a few cm square
