Here's the plan...

Got me £300 to buy a T&T'd shonker, and am sorting out a loan to get a pukka low-mileage 1242 unit then fettle it.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but I'm looking for a Punto 60 engine, 'cos it's SPI and 8v right? I'll be able to use my current ECU and ignition key, and it should fit straight in with just a couple of sensor changes.

So this way my cinq will get a newer, just-serviced, pokier engine just in time for summer. And ebay will get another shonker advertised with a couple of month's T&T left... got it narrowed down to a '91 Micra 1.2 or a Clio 1.4...[xx(]

correct. dont forget you'll need to "extend" the exhaust to join the manifold to the rear section.

True, or it'll hit the sump - spacer or welding needed. 60 engine is the easiest swap and makes a hell of a difference.

Turned out the car for me was neither a micra nor a clio. It was a mint Nissan Sunny 1.3L. £350, 12 mths MOT and just two previous OAP owners since it was reg'd in '88. s**t, there's even a guide to the best "Sunday Tearooms of Leicestershire" in the glovebox!!!

My Da had one once. Changing gear was like stirring porridge, the brakes were like sponge and it was about as exciting as watching hair grow. It never broke down though and ended up being traded in and used in an armed robbery.

Thats nothing short of silly....was that spin intentional or just due to the car's crap handling????

I'm pretty certain that was intentional. Gotta hand it to him its a perfect circle... Even though it was done on an Asda car park during the day.

I feel a 1242 turbo coming on...

That's what I love about this weather!!:D

Had a play in the carpark last night after everyone had gone:D

I'd love to have taken a photo of 2tons of Mitsubishi doing donuts (found it even more amusing in 4WD!![}:)])

If it snows again - I'll try & get some video footage:p

Got the Cinq tonight, but everything has been gritted so no fun for now!:(

Regards,

Bruce.

It was intentional, and my mate was doing no-handed conventional donuts in a short-wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter. Our company VW van was no good tho', long wheelbase and non-switchable traction control. It also had 3 bikes in the bike, so too much traction...

That much snow came down in like 20 mins, when we went in to the MaccyDs it was just rain!
