Brake Lights - How many are allowed

I got 3 brake lights already on the sei, 2 normal ones in the clusters and 1 in the back window.

Im thinking of having one in a spoiler, I would like to know what the technicalites are. I looked on various motoring sites and cant find anything relevent.

Anyone know

Cheers

as the three fitted are legally required to work for the MOT i dont think you would have a prob with the 1 extra although i have never been a fan of too many lights wouldnt you prefer the non light version?

as said before, as long as the standard ons work for MOT time, you'll be fine, no real law on brake lights as far as i know, so add as many as you like and if people complain, at least you can say that it got their attention and saw you slowing!:p

REQUIREMENTS RELATING TO OPTIONAL REAR POSITION LAMPS
Any number may be fitted and the only requirement prescribed by these Regulations in respect of any which are fitted is that specified in paragraph 7 of Part I.

If you really want to read the regs: http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si1989/Uksi_19891796_en_15.htm#end

rear position lamp being the red light at the back that comes on when your headlights/sidelights are on...

you wouldn't want them on your boot if you ever drove with your boot open!
