sei abarth wheel enquiry?

i know i will no doubt get the usual "use the search" shpeel, but i have and everybody keeps saying different things, so a search is useless really lol.

so im here for the final and undoubtable opinion on my issue.....

i have got a set of immaculate sei abarth 14" alloys from off a schuy sei, but the guy i bought them off said i wont need spacers as his car didnt have any on when he took them off, but yet i keep gettin different opinions as to whether i need them or not.......

so come on peeps,' make me a believer and give me the final answer.....do i need spacers when i fit the abarths on my sei or not??

and if i dooooo.......will i need longer bolts to accomodate the extra 10mm spacers??

and yep you'll need longer bolts if you get 10mm spacers on front

believe they'll fit without but you'll lose 20mm of front track

Re: sei abarth wheel enquiry?

I have read on here from a few searches that few people dont use spacers when having these wheels fitted, however i agree with the concensus that spacers should be used

Re: sei abarth wheel enquiry?

well ive had a couple of different people been telling me i can use the original bolts with and without spacers, others have said i need the stud conversion and the guy i bought em off said i can just stick em on without spacers, but like ghost said, it will shorten my track by 20mm and that doesn sound very good to me

but cooooouuld i.......get 2x10mm spacers and just use longer bolts and try my damnedest to get some extra length locking nuts???

p.s. ghost.......cheers buddy heehee

Re: sei abarth wheel enquiry?

so basically EVO was saying you can use them without spacers, but its better to actually use them?

one other final enquiry.......if i dont use spacers for the meantime, will my overall track with the 14"s be less up front than having the standard 13" sei wheels on?

hope ppl know what i mean!

exactly... u can use them without spacers, but its not adviced due to the decrease in track which could cause sporadic handling....

and that again is right, due to the increased offset of the abarth wheels, they will sit in the arches further than the standard 13" sei wheels, resulting in the narrow track!!!

Re: sei abarth wheel enquiry?

Studs & Nuts & Spacers: www.rallydesign.co.uk - You'll probably want 48mm exposed threads for front - 38mm ones are just that little bit too short (hence why i have to run 6mm spacers upfront instead of 10mm). Open ended bolts. Pinch is 1.25 all round

Locking Nuts: www.ebay.co.uk Get the fiat ones

As im nice:
Studs: http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=4726
Nuts: http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=4650
Spacers: http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=4638

Using the uni spacers, take off the sporting 3mm spacers, bolt them to the new spacers and drill 2 holes for the locating bolts. This holds the spacers nice and secure and keeps disks tight as before too...

Lockers: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Bravo-Tip...QQcmdZViewItem

^^ Those are the ones i have. Just bin the threads as they're no good, but the locking nuts are what you want.

Id order a full set of 16 nuts and threads, so you have 4 spare normal nuts...

Re: sei abarth wheel enquiry?

Thanks Luke!

I will say that with the 10mm spacers that 48mm studs aren't long enough to get a good grab, I got the 68mm to try but haven't got round to fitting them yet, also the 38's aren't long enough for my rears either so the 48's from the front are going on there.

Liam

that may be down to the style of wheel that you have, as i have 48's front 38's rear on my Cinq with Compomotive Mo's and they are perfect.
