Re: springs and buffer question?

Bump stops are a dealer part only, I would have thought, unless you go for uprated ones from Rally design or similar.

I presume you got all the remains of the old bushes out, including the metal ring.

To refit springs, mount up the arms at the front, put the spring in place, then jack the arm up until the damper bolt can be fitted to hold it all together.

Cheers

Re: springs and buffer question?

yeah got the metal ring out, dealer only parts suck nearest fiat dealer is 30 miles away. thanks for advice went back together easy (left bump stop out for now) but have another problem the bleed screw for the brakes went a little round when i tried to turn it so out with the vice grips. now its really f***ed. the lads in auto factors said you can only get it if i buy the hole hub/back plate. is this true?

Re: springs and buffer question?

nope, you get it with the wheel cylinder, but you should be able to get just the nipple anyway. Try a better parts shop, or even your local garage, they might have a box of assorted ones.

Cheers

Re: springs and buffer question?

I have a pair of bleed nipples brand new but I don't know if the front and rear are the same?

You can have them FOC if it would help?

Re: springs and buffer question?

FOC = Free of charge, PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post and you can see if they fit, they are Fiat spec but I bought them for front calipers and they are a 9mm fitting where the rear cylinders are 8mm but it could be the same.
