cinq sidelights

don't know if this is a fault or not!:I tonight i had my cinq parked facing a wall this evening and i noticed when i turned on my sidelights they came on straight away but then inreased in intensity to 'full' sidelight strength.so is this just part of the dim dip system or is it a fault?or are about 20 cinq owners now gonna go out and turn on there sidelights!!;) LOL

No need for alarm, it's a feature of the cinq.

The small sidelight bulbs light up normal, then a couple of seconds the dipped beam of the headlight lights up dim. this is because there is a resistor above the horn that becomes operative when the sidelights are used (on the headlight switch).

This doesn't happen though if you switch them on via the little black button on the ignition barrel and turn the key anti-clockwise.

Hope that helps

Yeah, mine does that. Its reassuring to know that you worried:D

Id assume its the element heating up- Or some form of current limiting to prevent current inrush and the fuses constantly blowing:D

When I turn on my headlights the drivers side light comes on about half a second earlier than the passenger side one. Anyone else's cinq do this? :)
