Cinq Braking Problems after Servicing...

Hi guys.

Yesterday I had my cinq 899 for a brake servicing and...
The brake liquid was all dirty and watery - probably hasn't been changed for ages - they changed it;
Front calipers were jammed - they removed the old (dirty) brake liquid from them and air-blowed them in and out until they started to move easily;
Both of the rear calipers had one piston rusted (not moving) to the base - changed both calipers;
Rear brake pads were 1mm thick - changed them;
Air-blowed the whole system from each end of the brake liquid pipe (in order to remove the remnant of the old liquid... not sure that this was a correct move);

After everything was fixed they let the air out of the system and

Now the brake pedal has become very soft and goes almost to the floor; Pushing the pedal to the very bottom of it does NOT stop the car the way it should, instead, it just slows down the motion in a dangerously smooth way!

The repair guys said that there might be a failure in the Master Cylinder (an internal leak..); seems logical, but this syndrome was not present just before i went to them, so i really think they left air in the system.

As they told me, I should drive for a few days and if this effect doesn't disappear I will go back to them replacing the master cylinder.

What do you think? Could it really be that the master cylinder is bad providing that the brake pedal was very firm before I did the servicing?

Blowing air through the system is never a method I have seen recomended. It may well have turned the seals in the master cylinder, so I would say its down to them to sort it, at their expense.

Cheers

Can you please explain what seals do you mean so that I can explain to the owner of the garage that the cylinder has been damaged because of the repair guys?

Also, would they require changing any parts of the Master Cylinder?

Thanks.
