Re: A day of highs and lows

Well at the end of the day something would have happened eventually, and like i said, i'd rather a kerb than a ditch. I have always been too fast on my pushbike and I'm sure this has extended to my driving but I've got to learn. No amount of advice in the world would actually do what experience does for you.
Can anybody honestly say that they have never driven beyond the limits of their skills and their cars? Because I don't know a single person who can.

Re: A day of highs and lows

One thread and this one, out of almost 300 posts. A week today. To be honest Im getting past caring anyway seeing as ridiculous fuel costs will stop me driving at all, yet alone always apparently going over the speed limit, losing control of the cinq and scaring my mate, which are all one off incidents bar hitting a kerb twice. Think what you will about my driving, like I said i'm past caring.

Re: A day of highs and lows

Hang on a mo. You've been driving less than a month, yet, you've hit a kurb at appreciable speed more than once, have nearly lost it, and have been driving at the limit of adhesion. I think you need to just cool it down a little. With a driving license comes responsibility. Every time you get behind the wheel you must be responsible, regardless of if there's traffic, pedestrians. You never know what's around the corner. The next time you go past your limits may be your last. Just bear that in mind, before something happens

Wink Re: A day of highs and lows

ridiculus fuel? how long does your £30 last you?

Our golf does between 20-34mpg and we HAVE to fill it with super unleaded else it blows headgaskets, (as we found out the other week, ahem.)
so, if we fill the tank thats usually about £35-42 depending on how empty it is. That will then last about 4 days on average, depending on wether Em gets a day off and whether we stay in if she does.

In the first few months of driving, Em had several "near misses" but she has never repeated the mistake. You do have to make mistakes to learn from them. We have spent a lot of time slagging Skinz off, perhaps we should look back on how many times we've done it? I've dropped to or 3 bikes at the top of my road at slow speed, due to gunning it round the corner when it was a bit greasy. It hurts, makes you look like a prat but sometimes you just don't think. If he'd never felt a tyre lose grip then he'll never know. at least now he'll be ready to deal with it next time, as he'll feel them begin to lose grip and be able to regain control before he hits a curb.

Sh*t happens, some people just tend to be sh*t magnets. I have a couple of mates like that. they drive fine most of the time, but when they have a momentary lapse it's usually in the wrong place.

Remember, you only learn to drive once you have your license. Mistakes happen, just try and learn from them.

Jon.

I dont/didnt have an 899cc

To be fair this was at southern prices as it was on the way from brooklands. I think i saw 102.9 somewhere down south

my arguement was for 30 quid i was probably only getting equivalent of maybe a couple of quid over 20 quid due to the hiked petrol prices, and that doesnt fill a 1108 to the brim
